Privacy Policy
PCU Filters ("we," "us") sells replacement filters and cleaning supplies for commercial kitchen pollution control units through pcufilters.com and kitchenexhaustfilters.com. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you request a quote or place an order, we collect:
- Your name, business name, email address and phone number
- Shipping and billing addresses
- Equipment details, such as the unit manufacturer, model, serial number, job number, filter part numbers, sizes and quantities
- Anything you write in notes or messages to us
Payment information. Card payments are handled by our payment processor. We do not see or store your full card number.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our site and hosting provider record basic technical data when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you view and the time of your visit. We use cookies only where the site needs them to work and, if we use analytics, to understand how visitors use the site in aggregate.
How we use it
- To prepare quotes and match filters to your equipment
- To process, ship and support your orders
- To send change-out reminders and order updates you've asked for
- To answer your questions and keep records of our business with you
- To keep the site secure and working, and to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations
We send marketing email only if you've opted in, and every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We share it only with companies that help us run the business, and only what they need:
- Suppliers and manufacturers that build or ship your order, which receive the equipment details and shipping address for that order
- Shipping carriers, to deliver your order
- Payment processors, to take payment
- Service providers such as our website host and email provider, which store or transmit data for us
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our customers or the public.
How long we keep it
We keep quote and order records for as long as we're doing business with you, and afterward for as long as we need them for tax, accounting and warranty purposes. Equipment details are kept so we can quote your next change-out quickly. You can ask us to delete them at any time.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can also unsubscribe from marketing email at any time. To make a request, email us at privacy@pcufilters.com. We'll respond within 30 days. We may need to keep some records where the law requires it, such as invoices.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) on our site. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Children
Our site and products are for businesses. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how we use information you've already given us, we'll tell you by email.
